A Message to the President

Good luck, Mr President
These days many of us would praise the new president of the United States. But we cannot forget those who are angry in their homes and feeling a strong sense of defeat. Democracy has decided for Biden, but liberal democracy is something more than just a decision-making process.
Liberal democracy is the rule of the majority with respect for the minority. Yes, today Trump's fans are the minority, but it would be a tremendous shame for the new president to act similarly to close minded Republicans or Democrats.
The United States of America has an opportunity to start anew. The start of a new presidency built on tolerance and respect towards everyone, even Trump supporters. It was enough to be against Trump to win the election, but it will not be enough for the stability of the country.
This new president needs to connect the country and try to respect every American irregardless of race, orientation, social class, or party identifcation. The biggest challenge for the new president is not a pandemic, neither climate-change nor war in the Middle East.
The hardest challenge for him is to unite the United States. And there are only two possible outcomes, to make America “great again”, or to allow someone far more radical and one-sided than Donald win in the upcoming elections.
Good luck, Mr President. Good luck!
