I moved to Bratislava for work and opportunities. I am on maternity leave now, but I have been working for Pán Králiček (a chain of mobile coffee shops) for 3 years now. I got to this work through my best friend who moved to Prague. I started to work here while I was waiting tables elsewhere. When I got pregnant, I abandoned my previous job and started to work full time here. I found myself here, this is the job of my dreams. I go here to relax. The more work, the better. At least I do not have to think so much. Not that I want to escape my thoughts or anything, only it is hard to find some time for myself. Having a 14-months old boy, two dogs and a man takes a lot of my energy. Back in the time right after I settled in Bratislava, I needed something that would force me to go out of my apartment. Therefore, I got myself those dogs. One is a French bulldog and the other one is from a dog shelter. Most of the dogs in my family are from shelters or streets. Mine is quite a complicated one. I think he has a small dog syndrome; he barks on my grandfather all the time. Also, he is not the sweetest to kids, which creates a problem now with the new-born. But we’ll see how it goes.

In my free time, I knit. I try to make some of the Christmas gifts right now since there is not much you can buy from maternity leave. Right now, I am working on a bag for my mother who lives in Switzerland. She moved there 7 years ago to pursue a better life. I could see on her that she was not happy here; she was frowning almost all the time. Her soul just was not balanced. Now, I can see her smiling all the time. She doesn’t complain at all. We call a lot, write even more. Also, she found the love of her life there. I am just happy that she found her happiness.
